She was willing to have cheap wedding decorations & a discount wedding gown, but one way or another she was getting married traditionally - country wedding songs and all.

There's nothing more uninteresting than planning reasonably priced weddings. You see, there is no miraculous low priced weddings trick. You need to simply save money and everything that you can. You have to discover a way to get inexpensive wedding invitations, cheap wedding centerpieces, low priced bridesmaid dresses, and even a somehow cheap room to have the get-together in. The last one is easy assuming that you know some-one with space that they will let you use. In my case, we were able to use my parents back yard & save lots of money on renting out a hall. Even so, everything else added up to quite a bit of cash.

The hardest part was picking out wedding bridal dresses with my wife. For most of the planning, she was willing to use wedding day do it your-self tricks in order to save a bit of money now & again, but picking out her wedding dress was an absolutely awful ordeal. In the end, we ultimately decided that that would be the one part of the wedding where she could spend as much money as she needed to get what she wanted to wear. After all, there is no substituting for the ideal wedding dress.
